Senior B Basketball

It was another disappointing day for our Senior B basketball players who were defeated at home to Presentation 29-12. It was a tough game for the girls and they played exceptionally well but it wasn’t their day. The scorers for Laurel Hill today were Aoife Hassett, Aisling Cusack, Chloe Maxwell and Róisín Duggan. TopButton would like to say a big well done to the girls who played today and hard luck on the result!

Well done to today’s basketball players with both Senior teams playing. The Senior A team heavily defeated Villiers with a 52-17 result. There was some impressive scores by Lynsey Purcell, Fiona O’Connell, Emma O’Donoghue, Grace O’Regan, Rachel Macauley, Grace Goggin and Ciara Nash. The girls played exceptionally well and we will keep you updated for the upcoming matches.
We would like to say a big well done to the Senior B team who had a great game against Salesians but were sadly the losing side today. There were some fantastic scores from Saoirse King, Aoife Hassatt, Kate Ryan, Róisín Duggan, Aisling Cusack and Ciara McCartan. The girls played very well today despite the court being really slippery. It was a tense match and very close at sometimes but the girls were unlucky and didn’t come away with a win.
Well done to both Senior teams today that played two outstanding matches and we wish them the best of luck with the rest of the season.images

Laurel Hill Vs. Askeaton

On Friday 20th the Laurel Hill senior basketball team took on Askeaton at the University of Limerick. It was a tense match as Laurel Hill wanted to be guaranteed a place in the semi-final of the school league. Fortunately this was achieved by the team performing fantastically on the day which resulted in another win. We’re very proud of our team! Congratulations to the girls and thank you to Alison and Mrs. Enright for their preparation with the team and organising the day. Also wishing the cadet team the best of luck with their match on Monday!

Laurel Hill Vs. Croom

On Wednesday, the cadets and senior basketball teams travelled to Croom Community Centre for their first matches of the New Year against Croom. Playing first the cadet team set a high standard winning their match. Congratulations to the team they all played fantastically. The senior team were up second also against Croom’s senior team. Laurel Hill had a proud day winning all their matches. Good luck to the girls competing in their next match on Friday the 20th of January. Thank you to Alison and Ms. Enright for their hard work and attendance on the day.

Laurel Hill Hoops!

All of the Laurel Hill Basketball Teams are now back training. There are a number of basketball teams in the school including 1st Years , 2nd Years , Cadets and Seniors. Alison coaches all of these teams and new players are always welcome. Last Wednesday a combination of the 1st ,2nd and third year players played against Laurel Hill Coláiste. It was a great match and Laurel Hill emerged victorious with a 28-14 scoreline. The League will commence next week and hopefully Laurel Hill will set the ball rolling and will be back to their winning ways. We wish all the teams good luck for the new season. C’mon Girls :)
